The purpose of the Development Department is to coordinate partnerships with community groups, pursue grant funding for city projects, and administer the Community Development Block Grant.

The Development Department also offers Housing Programs to income eligible homeowners. The funding comes from U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. These programs provide health and safety services for low-income Marietta resident's homes.

Public Notice - Program Year 2024 Action Plan

The City of Marietta will hold the first of two public hearings in the development of its 2024 CDBG Action Plan on February 13, 2024 at 6:00pm. The meeting will be held at Gilman United Methodist Church, 312 Gilman Ave., Marietta, OH 45750. The Marietta Development Department invites citizens to attend and bring suggestions, comments, and/or questions pertaining to city needs or project ideas. Low-to-moderate income citizens and citizens living in low-to-moderate income neighborhoods are especially encouraged to participate in the hearing.
 
The City estimates that it will receive approximately $385,000 in CDBG Entitlement funds for CDBG Program Year 2024 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The City estimates the receipt of no program income in 2024. The City’s 2021-2025 CDBG Consolidated Plan establishes goals relating to housing, infrastructure, neighborhood revitalization, and public services. All activities in the City’s 2024 Action Plan must be within the scope of the Consolidated Plan, and the Consolidated Plan requires all assisted activities to be documented to meet the CDBG low-to-moderate income national objective.

Homeowner Rehabilitation Assistance Programs

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Information
