Starting Salary - $47,105 to $47,811.68
Scope of Examinations
There is a non-mandatory question & answer session/practice session on September 30, 2023, from 10am – 12pm at 301 Putnam Street, Marietta Fire Station 1. Please stop by to ask questions, meet some of the staff, tour the station and equipment, and if you choose, practice the skills that will be tested.
Agility Test
Applicants WILL BE taking the agility test before the written exam. Agility test will be held at the Marietta Fire Department, at 301 Putnam Street, on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.
Physical requirements and application can be picked up at the Mayor’s office at 301 Putnam St. Marietta, Ohio. You may also access these documents at the City’s Website: www.mariettaoh.net.
A signed release from a medical doctor is REQUIRED to take the Physical Agility Test. Bring the release with you. Failure to have a signed release will cause you to be ineligible to take the physical test.
Written Exam
Applicants will be taking the entry level written examination in the Classified Service to be held at
Washington State Community College, 710 Colegate Drive, Marietta, OH, A&S Building, Room 106, on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.
A PHOTO I.D. WILL BE REQUIRED TO TAKE BOTH EXAMS
This examination is a written test. Passing grade – 70%
High School Education, GED equivalent required
Age requirement – 18-40
Applications must be returned no later than Monday, October 9, 2023, by 4pm.
All applications MUST be returned in a sealed envelope, either mailed or hand delivered to the
Mayor’s office at 301 Putnam Street, Marietta, Ohio.
Credit for Military Service/PARAMEDIC,AEMT,EMT/College/Fire Fighter II
Applicants who are residents of the State of Ohio and have been honorably discharged from active duty in the US Armed Forces are eligible to receive an additional credit of 20% of their passing score. Additional credit is also given for PARAMEDIC, AEMT, EMT/ Fire Fighter II and/or a college degree. DO NOT SUBMIT THESE DOCUMENTS UNTIL NOTIFIED.
