ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER – POLICE DEPARTMENT
Starting Salary – $20.78 to $21.30/hr
Scope of Examinations
Agility Test
Applicants WILL BE taking the agility test before the written exam. Agility test will be held at the Dyson Baudo
Recreation Center on Marietta College Campus, on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 9:00 a.m.
Physical requirements and application can be picked up at the Mayor’s office at 301 Putnam St. Marietta, Ohio. You may
also access these documents at the City’s Website: www.mariettaoh.net.
A signed release from a medical doctor is REQUIRED to take the Physical Agility Test. Bring the release with you.
Failure to have a signed release will cause you to be ineligible to take the physical test.
Written Exam
Applicants will be taking the entry level written examination in the Classified Service to be held at Washington State Community College, A&S 106, on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.
A PHOTO I.D. WILL BE REQUIRED TO TAKE BOTH EXAMS
This examination is a written test. Passing grade – 70%
High School Education, GED equivalent required.
Age requirement – 21-40 inclusive / 41-50 inclusive, only if provided Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission Certified
Credit for Military Service/Peace Officer/College
Applicants who are residents of the State of Ohio and have been honorably discharged from active duty in the US Armed Forces are eligible to receive an additional credit of 20% of their passing score. Additional credit is also given for Peace Officer training and/or college degree. Please submit a copy of OPOTA certification training with your application, if applicable.
Applications must be returned no later than Wednesday, September 7, 2022 by 4:00pm.
All applications MUST be returned in a sealed envelope, either mailed or hand delivered to the Mayor’s office at 301 Putnam Street, Marietta, Ohio. Any applications not in a sealed envelope will not be eligible to take the exam. No Exceptions.
