The Marietta City Health Department is now able to issue certified birth certificates (Abstracts or Image Copies) for anyone born in the State of Ohio.
We are able to issue certified death certificates for only those individuals who died within the city limits of Marietta. Our birth and death records begin in 1908 to present.
Certified copies may be obtained by one of the following ways:
- Personally coming into our office located at 304 Putnam St., Marietta, Ohio, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, M-F.
- Complete the linked application for either birth or death certificate. Make sure to include full name (include maiden name if married), date of birth or death, and parents names if known, a money order for $25.00 made payable to the City of Marietta, and a self addressed stamped envelope. Certified copies are $25.00 each. Non-certified copies are no longer available.
Family history research is also available. Depending on the number of records you are requesting, it may be necessary to leave the list and you will be notified when the research is completed.
