The Marietta Police Department’s Records Division is managed by Records Administrator Tammy Pape and Assistant Records Administrator Sarah Owens. The Records Division processes traffic crash reports and general police reports and issues bow hunting permits. Marietta Police Public Records Copy Fees 2022-2023

Criminal/Investigative Reports/Other Documents:

$0.05 per printed or copied page, $0.10 per printed color photo
$0.10 per printed or copied page needing to be double copied after manual redactions
$1.00 per disc

Note postage is not included in the above fees.

Traffic Crash Reports:

$4.00 for all documents and photos printed, emailed, or on a disc. (ORC § 5502.12)
This fee covers first class USPS postage.

Important Information for requesters

  •  Criminal and Investigative reports, documents, and any public record already existing in an electronic format can be emailed at no cost. Exceptions are unless redactions are required then $0.10 per page needing created to be redacted. Due to email size restrictions generally not more than three photographs can be emailed and will instead be placed in a file sharing website or placed on a disc. The same applies to larger requests.
  • Pre-payment is required for any request costing more than $5.00.
  • Any request needing mailed which cost more than $5.00 must be shipped US Mail with tracking unless the requester arranges for a different mode of shipping. Personal or business checks will have to clear before records will be mailed.
  • A form will be included at no cost to indicate the legal justification for redactions

For anyone wanting a City Bow Hunting permit you can click this link for a copy of the form.  The form is also available at the records office and will need to be completed and returned in person to the Marietta Police Department (Records Division) at 301 Putnam St. Marietta, OH 45750.

You will need to bring with you the following:

  • A copy of your photo ID to include your name, address and date of birth
  • Proof of passing the bow hunter proficiency course or bow hunter education course
  • Proof of combined single limit liability and property damage insurance in the minimum amount of $100,00
